The command “Be still, and know that I am God” invites a posture of surrender: stop striving, recognize God’s sovereignty, and let that recognition reshape how you live and speak. He makes wars to cease, this is not a promise that trouble will never come, but a promise that the One who rules over nations is greater than the forces that drive them. When weapons are broken and chariots burned, what remains is not human strategy but God’s presence. “Be still” is an invitation to stop the frantic work of proving, controlling, and defending, and to rest in the reality that God is God. In that stillness we exchange anxiety for awe, plans for trust, and noise for listening. Let this week be marked by small acts of stillness: a five‑minute pause before decisions, a prayer that names fear and hands it over, a refusal to escalate conflict. In those moments God is exalted among the nations and in your life.
Father God, Maker of peace, quiet my heart and still my restless thoughts. Break the weapons of fear and anger within me and kindle in me a trust that rests in Your power. Teach me to be still and to know You, that Your name may be exalted in my life and in the world. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious name Lord Jesus Amen.
