Jesus points to the coin’s image and asks whose it is, then draws a quiet, piercing line between what belongs to Caesar and what belongs to God. The coin carries an earthly claim; our lives carry God’s image. The challenge isn’t about taxes alone but about where we place ultimate allegiance. If God made us in His image, then our time, choices, loyalties, and worship rightly belong to Him. Notice what you habitually give away: time, attention, money, praise. Those things reveal what you truly serve. Practically, let this passage prompt a small inventory today, one change you can make to give God more of what bears His image: a moment of honest prayer, a generous act, a choice for integrity, or a restored relationship.
Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, help me see what bears Your image in my life and give me courage to render it back to You. Teach me to steward my time, gifts, and heart for Your glory. Where I’ve given my best to lesser things, forgive me and turn my hands and eyes toward You. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Lord Jesus Amen.
