And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
– Psalms 40:3-4
These verses celebrate God’s rescue and the response it produces. After deliverance, the psalmist receives a new song, a fresh, public testimony of praise. That testimony draws attention: others “see” God’s work, respond with reverent awe, and are led to trust. True blessing rests on trusting God rather than relying on self, pride, or dishonest shortcuts. Honest praise can inspire faith and reverence in observers. The blessed life is defined by dependence on God, not by self-sufficiency or deceitful gain. When God rescues or renews you, let your gratitude be visible, your testimony can point others to trust, and choose dependence on God over pride or dishonest shortcuts.
Lord Jesus, thank You and praise You for the new song You put in my heart. Help me to praise You openly so others may see and be drawn to trust You. Give me the humility to rely on You alone and the courage to refuse pride and deceit. Make my life a faithful testimony to Your saving grace. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Amen.
