"Only Life Changes"

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
– Philippians 4:7-8

This is like a gentle reminder that God’s peace isn’t something we can explain, it’s something we experience. Then Paul gives us that list of things to dwell on: truth, honesty, purity, loveliness, virtue, praise. It’s almost like a spiritual filter for our thoughts, keeping our hearts steady and our minds clear.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
– 1 John 4:10-12

This is one of the most tender and powerful declarations of divine love and human responsibility. It beautifully reminds us: Love begins with God, not with our efforts, but with His initiative to love us first. Jesus is the proof, sent as the propitiation, the atoning sacrifice, for our sins. We are called to reflect that love, by loving one another, we become vessels of His presence. God’s unseen presence becomes visible, through the love we share, His love is perfected in us. Psalm 91:1–3

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. “This is about God’s protection, a divine refuge from danger, pestilence, and fear. Psalm 91:1–3 highlights trusting in God as our ultimate shelter and deliverer. It also shows that God is our fortress, the one who shields us from harm.

Ecclesiastes 4 reminds us of that God often works through the people in our lives, friends who help us back up when we stumble. In ministry, caregiving, and times of grief, these truths connect: we rest in God’s presence and support each other as companions in faith.

Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honor is humility. He that answered a matter before he is hearing it, it is folly and shame unto him. The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?

Humility before honor; true elevation comes only after we’ve bowed low in spirit.

Listening before speaking; wisdom is found in patience, not in rushing to answer.

Strength of spirit; our inner resilience can carry us through illness or hardship, but when the spirit itself is wounded, the weight feels unbearable without God’s healing.

Like three pearls strung together: humility, discernment, and inner strength. Together they form a guide for how to walk wisely and endure faithfully.

May your day be filled with grace, gentle strength, and unexpected joy and peace. May your prayers find their way into hearts that need them, and your God given talents continue to speak healing where words fall short.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. –

Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.
– Proverbs 16:18-20

I love how this reminds us, me that humility and trust in the Lord are the true safeguards of life. Pride may look strong for a moment, but it’s fragile, it collapses under its own weight. Humility, on the other hand, builds bridges, sustains peace, and keeps us aligned with God’s wisdom. I love how verse 20 ties it together: “whoso trusts in the LORD, happy is he.” It’s not just about avoiding destruction; it’s about finding joy and goodness through wise handling and faith. May your day be filled with that kind of happiness and peace

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Father God, I thank You and praise You for the little things. For warm coffee, quiet mornings, a kind word, a safe place to rest. Help me see Your hand in every detail. In the ordinary, the overlooked, the tender. Let my heart stay soft, my gratitude deep, and my trust steady, even in the smallest moments. Bless those I come in contact with and those in my heart I carry. Bless them. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

This is such a beautiful passage the “Beatitudes” are like a gentle roadmap for living with humility, compassion, and peace. They remind us that true strength isn’t in power or pride, but in meekness, mercy, purity, and peacemaking. Each blessing points to both a present posture and a future promise: inheriting the earth, being filled, receiving mercy, seeing God, and being called His children.

May your day be filled with the same peace and joy these verses carry.

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. Such beautiful heart felt scripture on a day going through different realities and hearing this scripture can fill me with peace and comfort. This is one of those scriptures that feels like a steady anchor, it reminds us that true contentment isn’t about circumstances but about Christ’s strength within us. Paul’s words carry both humility and courage: he knew hunger and abundance, weakness and strength, yet he found peace in every season because of Christ. It makes me think of how the Pastor read his sermon almost like he knew what my week was like. Or listening to Christian or country music and the right song comes on to lift my spirits. You ever felt that? Too often we carry that same balance, acknowledging grief or struggle but the message always pointing back to hope and strength in Jesus.

May everyday bring courage, strength and hope in Jesus Christ and His freedom He has for us all.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
