If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
– James 1:5-7
These verses teach us that when we lack wisdom, we should ask God, who gives generously and without reproach. God promise responds to humble requests with clear, generous guidance. Verse six calls us to ask in faith, not doubting, because doubt makes us unstable, tossed like a wave. Trust and steady dependence open the heart to God’s wisdom; hesitation and double mindedness close it.
Dear Lord Jesus, I ask for wisdom. Give me clear sight to see Your way and steady faith to follow it. Help me trust You, without doubting, so my heart will not be tossed by fear or second-guessing. Fill me with courage to act on what You show me and peace when answers wait. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Lord Jesus Amen.
