Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

Jesus warns against public showmanship in giving and calls us to give with humility and secrecy. When charity is done for applause, the praise is the giver’s only reward; when it’s done quietly, God sees the heart and rewards rightly. Let your generosity flow from compassion, not from a desire to be noticed; practice small, hidden acts of kindness that reflect God’s love rather than your image.
Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, soften my heart and guard my motives. Help me to give with humility and compassion, not for praise but to serve others and honor You. Teach me to trust Your unseen reward and to love quietly, faithfully, and generously. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Jesus Amen.
