“Because Jesus Lives In Us”

“Because Jesus Lives In Us”

We do have hope! Although we don’t always feel like smiling, we can choose to do what’s right, even when we don’t feel like it. We can be kind and affectionate because Jesus is and our life is hidden in him. When we need to, we can reach right down inside our heart and soul and pull out some Jesus and sprinkle it on a wound or a broken heart. Sometimes easier said than done. But with Jesus all things are possible. When we are overwhelmed, we can breathe in Jesus like fresh oxygen. Since his love surrounds us, bright hope instantly rises like the sun on a fresh Spring morning.

“Empty Our Self”

How liberating and empowering it would be to be free from self-love with selfless abandon, to serve the lowest and the broken in the humblest of circumstances with a soul full of Holy laughter and joy, all the while realizing that I am a child of the King. There is great joy in making ourselves of no reputation, just as Christ did. Today, empty yourself of self and serve the King with selfless abandon!

“Be Still”

“Be Still”

Call your soul to rest.
Stop burning the candle at both ends.
Be still and know that he is God.
Turn off all noise.
Listen for his still small voice.
Jesus welcomes all who labor and are heavy-laden to find rest in him.
Take your burdens to the Lord.
Leave them there.

“God cares about what we say.”

God’s Grace, forgiveness, and ears listen closely to His children who obey in faith. John had confidence in God, including a confidence that whatever he prayed for in God’s name was a prayer that God would hear. The man that had no help to get in the pool. After healing the man, Jesus found him in the temple. Jesus told him pick up your mat and walk. The man did. He was cured. There is no specific time marker, but it likely happened on the same day. Jesus told him, “Sin no more,” connecting his past sufferings with individual sin. Sin is a hard boss to work for. Long hours, broken hearts, worried minds, and a multitude of bitter memories are the effects of Satan. “The wages of sin is death.” Be no longer the servant of sin when there is complete faith in Jesus. Release yourself from the jail you made for yourself in bondage.
{Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”
