And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
– James 5:15-16

Jesus completely healed a man, but the religious leaders focused on the day the miracle happened instead of celebrating the life that had been restored. The passage shows how quickly rules can become more important to people than mercy. The man identified Jesus as the One who made him well, and this caused the leaders’ opposition to turn toward Him. May we never become so focused on traditions that we overlook God’s compassion. When Jesus brings healing, hope, and restoration, let us rejoice and give Him the glory.
Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, open our eyes to Your wonderful works. Keep our hearts from becoming judgmental or hardened. Help us choose compassion over criticism and rejoice when others receive healing and restoration. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your mighty Precious Name Lord Jesus Amen.
