But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. Let not then your good be evil spoken of: For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
– Romans 14:15-17
God’s kingdom is not centered on outward matters such as food and drink. It is revealed through righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Before insisting on what we have a right to do, we should ask: Will this show Christ’s love, encourage peace, and strengthen someone’s faith? Love is more valuable than winning an argument or satisfying a personal preference.
Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, help me walk in love and consider how my choices affect others. Fill me with righteousness, peace, and joy through the Holy Spirit. May my life strengthen others and honor You. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Lord Jesus Amen.
