Psalm 137 is a hymn expressing the yearnings of the Jewish people during their Babylonian exile (The Babylonian captivity or Babylonian exile is the period in Jewish history during which a number of Judahites of the ancient Kingdom of Judah were captives in Babylonia. After the Battle of Carchemish in 605 BCE, Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, besieged Jerusalem, resulting in tribute being paid by King Jehoiakim.). In its whole form of nine verses, the psalm reflects the yearning for Jerusalem as well as hatred for the Holy City’s enemies with sometimes violent imagery.
Psalm Chapter 137:1-9 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. How shall we sing the LORD’s song in a strange land? If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy. Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof. O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewarded thee as thou hast served us. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dashes thy little ones against the stones.
(Prayer)
Father God, It is sad how evil people can be, when they deliberately hurt someone or just brutally kill them for something just to do. It is sad to tear someone’s heart apart and get away with it. To those who want to destroy lives in any way shape or form. Lord I am believing You will deal with them as they deserve. We live in a sad world. I believe that if we believe in You nothing will befall us. I thank You and praise You that we should be silent around our accusers and enemies. Smile and walk on and make them really think about their actions. I thank You and praise Your ending to those in Captivity. Justice is Yours God and not mine is what I got from this Psalms. I know You will make all right in Your timing in Jesus Precious Name Amen.

O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever: The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever: The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever: And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever: With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever: And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever: But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever: And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever: Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever: And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever: And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever: Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever. Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever. {Prayer} Father God, Heavenly Abba Father, I thank You, praise You and give You all the glory for the air I breathe and for life. I thank You and praise You for this new day and for all You have in store for me. I thank You and praise You for Your grace, mercy and loving kindness’s to me. To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endures for ever. Psalm 136:4
Praise the LORD: Psalm 135 begins and ends with this phrase. It is a call for stirring, passionate praise to God, but not one that runs only on the fuel of emotion. This psalm gives many reasonable, logical reasons why we should praise the LORD. Psalm 135 means Hallelujah, in verses 1 and 21, means “*praise the *LORD”. This means “tell the *LORD that he is very great”. The *LORD is a special name for God.
Psalm chapter 135:1-21 Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise him, O ye servants of the LORD. Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God, Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant. For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure. For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places. He causes’ the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he makes lightnings for the rain; he brings the wind out of his treasuries. Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast. Who sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants. Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings; Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan: And gave their land for an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people. Thy name, O LORD, endures for ever; and thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations. For the LORD will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants. The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not; They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths. They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusted in them. Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron: Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD, bless the LORD. Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.
{Prayer} Father God, I thank You and praise You and give You all the glory for all Your loving-kindness towards me and the Psalmist in giving praise and grateful thanks to You, for You are good and tender, gentle and faithful, upright and true. I thank You and praise You for Your daily mercies and I praise You for all the kindness You show towards me. You are Lord of all. I give thanks and praise with my whole heart and proclaim with my mouth, I love You and You are good and Your mercies endure forever in Jesus Precious Name Amen. Hallelujah!
{Power Verse} Thy name, O LORD, endures for ever; and thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations. Psalm 135:13
Psalms 134 is “Greetings Of Night watchers” In chapter 133 This psalm is a brief encomium on unity and brotherly love, which, if we did not see the miseries of discord among men, we should think needless; but we cannot say too much, it were well if we could say enough, to persuade people to live together in peace. Psalm 133 is a Song of Ascents–a song for going up to a high place. For the Jewish people in ancient times, that high place was the Temple in the city of Jerusalem. One literally “goes up” to Jerusalem. The superscription attributes the Psalm to David, but that superscription was omitted by the RSV, perhaps indicating some reluctance on the part of translators to accept David’s authorship. A tiny thing such as this points to the weakness of that version. Chapter 134 This is the last of the fifteen songs of degrees; and, if they were at any time sung all together in the temple-service, it is fitly made the conclusion of them, for the design of it is to stir up the ministers to go on with their work in the night, when the solemnities of the day were over.
Psalm Chapter 133:1-3 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. Psalm Chapter 134:1-3 Behold, bless ye the LORD, all ye servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD. The LORD that made heaven and earth bless thee out of Zion.
{Prayer} Father God, I thank You, praise You and I bless Your holy name! You are awesome and Majestic is Your name! You just tend to bring unity into Your church that no one can fathom. I believe that I may learn to live together with all my brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ in godly love and unity, and to Your praise and glory. Protect me from division, wanton discord, strife or division and help all Your children to stand firm in the faith, righteousness once offered to the saints through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has caused us to be united together in Him through the Holy Spirit. I thank You, praise You and give You all the glory for all those who mentor, teach and just are a light of Jesus in all who they come in contact with! I thank You, Praise You and give You all the glory for those that are in Your hands now. Bless all of them. I forever want to lift my hands and praise and bless You for all You have done in my life. I thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen. {Power Verse} “{A Song of degrees of David.} Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1)
Galatians 5. Having commanded the Galatians to “throw out” the Mosaic Law, Paul commanded them (and us) to keep standing fast (στήκετε, present active imperative) in the freedom of Christ and not be subject to the Mosaic Law (Galatians 5.1). One need comprehend only a little of Paul’s message to the Galatians to understand how great a tragedy exists in most of Christendom regarding living the Christian life. Galatians 5 is the fifth chapter of the Epistle to the Galatians in the New Testament of the Christian Bible. It is authored by Paul the Apostle for the churches in Galatia, written between AD 49–58. This chapter contains a discussion about circumcision and the allegory of the ” Fruit of the Holy Spirit “. Galatians 5:5 “For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.” “Though the Spirit … hope of righteousness”: means that by the Holy Spirit’s help, which is obtained “by faith,” believers “wait for the hope of righteousness,” that is, live the Christian life awaiting the consummation of their salvation. Being crucified with Christ means that we have a new love. The lusts of the flesh and the love of the things of this world have been crucified (Galatians 5:24). Now we love Christ, though we have not seen Him (1 Peter 1:8). Being crucified with Christ means that we have a new commitment. Galatians Chapter 5:1-26 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availed any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? This persuasion cometh not of him that called you. A little leaven leavened the whole lump. I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubled you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. I would they were even cut off which trouble you. For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lasted against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envying’s, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
{Lets Pray}
Father God, I thank You and praise You that although I was dead in trespasses and sins You saved me by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Thank You that You have mercy on the sinner. I thank You and praise You that You have given me a second chance regrown human spirit and the power, to live my life in spirit and truth. I believe that day-by-day moment by moment I may walk by means of the Spirit, and submit to His leading and guiding. Help me to listen to His voice, submit to His will, and be obedient to His correction, so that I will not succumb to the desires of the flesh but rather walk in newness of life, in His power, strength and love. Let Jesus leave a legacy through me and others, so others will believe in You also. Bless all those today who have fear and doubt that they will feel You near to them and their prayers be answered so they can say: I know this is You God! Let the fruit of the spirit guide our lives with love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. I thank You, praise You and give You all the glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
{Power Verse} “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16
God made the promise to King David and his descendants that David’s throne would be established forever. After bringing the ark of the covenant into Jerusalem and there was peace in the land David had it in his heart to build a house for the Lord, but through the prophet Nathan God told David not to build a house for God at that time. Psalm 132 has strong historical implications with regard to the Davidic Covenant (compare 2 Sam. 7:10-14,Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house. And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: 16; Psalms 89; 132:10-11), and pronounced messianic and millennial overtones (Psalm 132:12-18). Essentially, this psalm contains the nation’s prayers for David’s royal descendants which look ahead, even to Messiah.Verse 16. But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
Psalm chapter 132:1-18 Lord, remember David, and all his afflictions: How he swore unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob; Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed; I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids, Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob. Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood. We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool. Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength. Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy. For thy servant David’s sake turn not away the face of thine anointed. The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore. For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it. I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread. I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy. There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed. His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish. {Prayer} “Father God, I thank You and praise You for the song of forgiveness in Psalm 131. I thank You and praise You that You humble all Your children from our inside voice to our outside voice. I thank You and praise You that You humble us sometimes away from this world, so we can be stilled in You and recognize how we have really ignored You. Thank You that You put us in this closed seems like a closet we can’t open. But I realize I need to be still to really repent of my sins to You and really know that You are going through it all with me. That no weapon formed against me shall prosper as long as I stay in constant communion with You. Staying in contact and repenting starts and ends with You. I thank You and praise You that You are my best friend. You go always where I do. Amen! Help me to realize that you long to dwell in me always. There is nothing that I can do, make or create that will take your ‘longing for me’ away. By accepting that you love me and acknowledging that you are Lord of my life, I am preparing a place for you. Not just in my quiet time, but in my ‘every’ time. I invite you to share everything I do and say today. You are the Mighty One. Thank You for Your church that is Your sanctuary. I love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
{Power Verse} If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore. Psalm 132:12
Psalm 130 is a Song of Forgiveness; Psalm 131 is a Song of Humility: the former celebrates the blessedness of the man whose transgressions are pardoned, the latter celebrates the blessedness of the man who is of a meek and lowly spirit. Forgiveness should humble us. Psalm 131 is one of the shortest chapters in the Book of Psalms, being one of three psalms with only three verses (the others are Psalms 133 and 134). The shortest psalm is Psalm 117, with two verses. Psalm 131 is classified among the psalms of confidence. Themes.
Psalm Chapter 131:1-3 Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me. Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child. Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.
Psalm 130 begins with a personal testimony of God’s rescue from the depths of guilt. From there, the author ascends step by step to a place where he can give confidence to others in their trust in God. Because Psalm 130 is marked by an awareness of sin and a powerful assurance of forgiveness, tradition numbers it among the seven penitential psalms (6, 32, 38, 51, 102, 130, 143).This psalm relates not to any temporal concern, either personal or public, but it is wholly taken up with the affairs of the soul. It is reckoned one of the seven penitential psalms, which have sometimes been made use of by penitents, upon their admission into the church; and, in singing it, we are all concerned to apply it to ourselves. The psalmist here expresses,
PSALM 130:1-8 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities. {Prayer} Father God, I thank You this morning for the gift of life You have given me. Many times my heart has cried so hard it felt like it was just bleeding to death. But You heard me and listened to every cry, joy and through it all. It is You that lifted me out of those circumstances. Nothing in my hand I bring this morning, simply to Thy cross I cling. I thank You and praise You Father God, for sending Jesus to pay the shocking price for my sins, I thank You and praise You and give You the glory that His own life-blood shed for me. That gift of forgiveness no one can fake and it makes my heart proud to be called a daughter of God. I thank You and praise You that in Jesus Christ, I have forgiveness of sins and life everlasting, and I offer this prayer to You in heart felt comfort. peace and love in name of Jesus Christ, my God and Savior, Precious Name Amen.
{Power Verse} “If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?” (Psalm 130:3)
Well Psalm 129 is about tough faith, trusting God to get you through the hard times, even when the pain is intense and the suffering is long. Psalm 129 divides into two sections. The first section talks about persevering through the pain, and the second section talks about praying through the pain and gaining the victory over those things that stand against you. Life is a struggle. It is a continuing battle, and it takes perseverance to go the distance. Psalm Chapter 129:1-8 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say: Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me. The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows. The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked. Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion. Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up: Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom. Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD. Father God, I thank You for what I have gone through in my life knowing there are still some good memories left. I thank You and praise You that those who have hurt me in the past, You take care of them and I need not turn back. But move forward with You and Your word. I thank You and praise You that You make miracles out of our mess’s that are scars now. I thank You, Praise You and give You all the glory for those who have been the light of Jesus in my life and have kept guiding me and encouraging me not to give up. Bless them all even those in Heaven right now. I thank You and praise You and give You all the glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
{Power Verse} The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked. Psalm 129:4
What does Psalms 127 mean? Psalm 127 lays emphasis on the blessings of Gods. As Christians, we are meant to know that without God we are nothing. The builders of the towers, cities, churches, empires, watchmen of the cities and all labor in vain without the help of God. Psalm Chapter 127:1-5 Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman wakes but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. {Prayer} Father God, I want You to be the One watching over my life in all I say and do, for I confess that without You I can do nothing, but I praise Your name that I can do all things through Christ, Who gives me the strength, Philippians 4:13. I thank You. I thank You for psalms 66:9 that You hold me with Your hands and guide my feet on your path. I am so blessed and anyone who walks with You will see their miracles in Jesus Precious Name Amen. “Blessedness of The Fear of The Lord”
Psalm 128 is a psalm of triumph that focuses on gaining God’s blessing as a reward. Psalm 127 is all about God and his gifts to us. Psalm 128 is all about our attitudes and actions towards God. Psalm 128 tells us, “Blessed are all who fear the Lord.” Psalm Chapter 128:1-6 Blessed is every one that fears the LORD; that walks in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labor of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that fears the LORD. The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Israel. {Prayer} Father God, I thank You and praise You that You are my God and my Savior. Thank You for your free gift of grace, which I receive by faith. Also others who fear You in walking in righteousness in Jesus Precious Name Amen. {Power Verse} Behold, for thus shall the man or woman be blessed who fears the Lord. Psalm 128:4
