"Only Life Changes"

Proverbs chapter 3 mainly consists of wise sayings addressed to “my son” (Proverbs 3:1). These could be the words of a sage to a younger man or a father to his son, except for the reference to divine law and commandments (Proverbs 3:1: “My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments”). This now leads to the conclusion that it is God talking, until we see God referred to in the third person, as in verses ‘5–’6: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” In verse ’15’ we begin to see references to a personified “wisdom”, today generally called Lady Wisdom. It is not entirely clear at this point, but the personified wisdom is probably the narrator in this chapter, as she is in much of the Book of Proverbs.

The core of this chapter is adoration of Wisdom: Happy is the many who finds Wisdom…She is more precious than rubies…Length of days [your age at death] is in her right hand…Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace…

There are numerous other mentions of ‘Lady Wisdom’ (Hebrew: ‘Hokmah’, Greek: ‘Sophia’), both in the Bible and in the Apocrypha. W. F. Albright and others compared the figure of Wisdom to the goddess Asherah, whereas R. N. Whybray (‘The social world of the wisdom writers’, published in The World of Ancient Israel (edited by R. E. Clements) cites B. Lang (Wisdom and the Book of Proverbs: An Israelite Goddess Redefined) as believing that she was the early Israelite goddess of wisdom and patroness of learning. The books mix texts about Lady Wisdom with those about philosophical wisdom, obscuring the existence of the goddess, and often using the uncapitalized ‘wisdom’ in English translations when Lady Wisdom is clearly intended. Wisdom also appears in Luke’s Gospel (Luke 7:35: “But Wisdom is justified of all her children” and Luke 11:49: “Therefore, the Wisdom of God said, I will send to them prophets and apostles; some of them they will kill and persecute”). (The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. He cites some of the valuable results of obedience and trust. This section builds on the counsel Solomon gave in Proverbs 2.

Proverbs Chapter 3:1-35
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Father God, I love You, thank You and praise You that You know all things and that I can trust myself, my family, my friends, my work, my home, my finances, my relationships, my need and necessities into Your hands as all these are a gift from You. I trust You Father God. I trust in Your faithful guidance in my life. If there is anyone out there who don’t know You. I am believing for them to share this prayer with me. Dear Father God, in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You, that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness. Guide me to a church where I can learn more of Your righteousness and Your love for me, I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins , so that I may have eternal life with You in Jesus Precious Name Amen.

The overarching theme of Proverbs chapter 2 is the relationship between virtue and discernment. As described here, virtuous living is moral living. As a person strives to live a moral life, he or she develops a greater ability to discern right from wrong. In the book of Proverbs, learning is the short-term gain of information, which becomes knowledge when it is remembered and kept for later use. Wisdom is used in reference to the good and appropriate application of knowledge.

Proverbs Chapter 2:1-22
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou cries’ after knowledge, and lifts up thy voice for understanding: If thou seeks her as silver, and searches’ for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserves the way of his saints. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. When wisdom enters into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks froward things; Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness (Difficult) of the wicked; Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God. For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life. That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous. For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Father God, I thank You and praise You that I am in Jesus Christ and that in Him is all the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Help me to receive and pay attention to Your Word as I need to grow in grace, wisdom, knowledge and understanding Your way. In Ephesians Chapter 3, Paul said that he was a prisoner of Jesus and was bound because he believed in preaching the Word to the Gentiles. During the time when Paul wrote the letter the Ephesians, the Gentiles and Jews did not join together. Paul reminded them of his own conversion.
What does Ephesians chapter 3 mean? Chapter 3 speaks about the mystery of Christ revealed (Ephesians 3:1–13). The second part of this chapter emphasizes Paul’s prayer for spiritual strength, and ends the first half of his letter and is a prayer from Paul on behalf of the Christians of Ephesus. Focused on doctrinal ideas, to the second half, where those ideas are put into practice. The natural theme for this transition is an appeal for spiritual strength from God. Ephesians 3:14–21.
Ephesians Chapter 3:1-21

Father God, I thank You and praise You for Your goodness, Your grace and mercy on us and for the wonderful truths that were revealed to us through Paul, the apostle to the gentiles. I thank You and praise You that we have been placed in eternal union with Jesus Christ, have been imputed with Jesus Christ’s righteousness. I thank you and praise You that by faith we have become a new creation in Jesus. His resurrected life has become our new, born-again life in Christ. I want to be a great steward like Paul was. Proverbs 1:20-33 is a strong warning against being a fool that despises wisdom for there is a terrible price to pay when that is done. In this passage wisdom is personified as a woman who shouts her warning – “Wisdom shouts in the street, She lifts her voice in the square .”(Read Proverbs 1:20-33) Solomon, having showed how dangerous it is to hearken to the temptations of Satan, here declares how dangerous it is not to hearken to the calls of God. Christ himself is Wisdom, is Wisdoms. Three sorts of persons are here called by Him: In verse 23 the wisdom of God makes the promise, “I will pour out my Spirit upon you and cause you to understand my teaching.” But this promise is contingent upon our responsiveness to divine wisdom, we must respond to wisdom’s “rebuke.” The lessons here given are plain, and likely to benefit those who feel their own ignorance, and their need to be taught.

Proverbs Chapter 1:20-33
Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying, How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Father God, I know felons and those who are unloved, or have no one who cares. Father this is from a felon friend of mine that need to be heard. I am going to share his prayer with others this day: It reads:
Father God, I (George) am ill and feel frightened and alone as I have no one to care for me. I have no one who is really interested in me at all, and I feel lost and alone and so vulnerable. They set traps for me and horas me and want me back in jail. I can not even keep a job. The police even want me back in jail. People make mistakes and other people crucify me. And now Jesus, I have come down with this sickness and I feel so ill. Jesus, I ask You please to make me well again soon, and lift up my depressed spirit. I know Lord in my heart that I am not alone, because You are with me, which is the real reason that I am praying to You now, because You promised to be with me and never to leave me or forsake me, even when everyone else does. Be with me now I pray, and reach out Your healing hand of blessing and touch me Lord. Please make me feel better, not only in my body but also in my life. Everyone is against me. It feels like my mom has given up on me and I deserve it. Thank You, that I can call on You in times of trouble or illness or loneliness, and know that You are always there to hear and answer, to heal and comfort and help. Jesus I know you see it all. I pray that You would help me to really apply this truth in my life, not just when I am sick, or miserable as I am now, but every day. Amen.

I had to share this young man’s prayer. It made me realize I felt like that years ago. Have you ever felt like this? Well God knows and He will make all things right in His timing. Stay close to Him. He will never leave you alone. Amen!

Proverbs 1:8–19 is a warning against foolishness and the allure of sinful behavior. Solomon begins this warning by appealing to his children to honor their parents’ teaching. As any parent knows, it’s often best to outline a negative behavior before stating the consequences of that behavior. “When you have not condemned or backslid, you can be bold. Having nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.”
Proverbs Chapter 1:8-19

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck. My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives. So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

Dear Heavenly Father God, thank You and Praise You for placing us in families and for giving us the understanding that parents are ordained by You, to train up their children in the reverential fear of the Lord. In a world where honor and respect for both parents and older mentors is becoming increasingly scorned, we all pray that children and young people would be willing to listen to their fathers’ words of instruction, and to hold fast to the teachings they receive from their mothers. We plead Your protection, guidance and wisdom over Christian families everywhere, and pray that Your name would be honored and respected by old and young alike. That wars would cease and peace would increase all for Your honor and glory. I love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.

“My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:”

Proverbs 1:1–7 outlines the four distinct ”to” statements, or purpose statements of the book of Proverbs. This section culminates with the identification of the only source of true wisdom, the Lord Himself. The purpose of the book of Proverbs is to recognize wise instruction and apply knowledge wisely.

Dear Heavenly Father God, I thank You and praise You for loving me and convicting me of sin and righteousness and judgement and I thank You and Praise You that by faith in Jesus Christ I have been brought into Your kingdom and placed into His body. The book of Psalms is the primary book in the Writings section of the Hebrew Scriptures (the Old Testament). There are 150 psalms in the book of Psalms, and all of them contain valuable information about life’s most important questions. How much do you know about the other 149 psalms? Here are some great ways to praise the Lord and what He says about them! Praise Him by lifting your hands. Praise Him with singing. Praise Him with your words. Praise Him with dancing and instruments. Praise Him in fellowship with other believers.
Praise and Worship. the God of the Bible. To praise and worship God is to express our love and awe of who He is. In Isaiah 66:1 God says, “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.” He is the Creator of the universe and everything in it, which includes you and me. How wonderful and amazing is that!
Psalm Chapter 150:1-6
Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Father God, I thank You and praise You for all 150 Chapters of Psalms that has encouraged and has taught me more of Your love, power, strength and how to overcome the enemies by Letting You deal with all You see and deal with in Your way. I really Thank You for musical instruments, praising, worship and singing. I thank You for Paul, Moses, Heman the Ezrahite, Ethan the Ezrahite, Solomon, Asaph, and the sons of Korahand that they was so talented and left a legacy for all Your saints to be encouraged. Bless all of them today. Protect all of our brothers and sisters from their enemies. I praise You for all You are and all You do Always! Hallelujah! Chapter 149 The foregoing psalm was a hymn of praise to the Creator; this is a hymn of praise to the Redeemer. It is a psalm of triumph in the God of Israel, and over the enemies of Israel. Probably it was penned upon occasion of some victory which Israel was blessed and honored with. Psalm 149, The Lord taketh pleasure in his people, Praise ye the LORD, Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. Psalm 149 “The Lord taketh pleasure in his people” Psalm 149: The unique aspect of praise highlighted in this psalm is that praise is related to the kingdom of the Lord.
Psalm Chapter 149:1-9
Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honor have all his saints. Psalm 149:4

What Does Ephesians 2:2 Mean? in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Ephesians Chapter 2. In the first ten verses Paul presents the past, present and future of the Christian: what he was (verses 1-3); what he is (verses 4-6, 8-9); and what he will be (verses 7, 10). Within this framework he gives six aspects of salvation: it is from sin (verses 1-3); by love (verse 4); into life (verse 5); with a purpose (verses 6-7); through faith (verses 8-9); and unto good works (verse 10). Everything Paul mentions in Ephesians 2 is the gift of God to us. The gift is not faith itself, but everything else that God has done and taught and provided through Jesus Christ, and which we can benefit from when we believe in Jesus for it. First, some believe that since unregenerate people are “dead in trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2:1) In other words, the idea that faith is a gift derives from the false idea that faith is somehow meritorious. After all, if faith is a work, then we must say that faith is a gift from God, for we cannot teach that humans are able to work for eternal life. But Scripture is clear about faith, that it is not a work; it is not meritorious. Faith is the opposite of works (Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Romans 4:4-5). Faith does not earn, achieve, or gain good standing with God in any way. Therefore, faith does not need to be a gift from God. People are persuaded about all sorts of things, and no such persuasion is ever considered to be a good work or a meritorious action, or a gift from God. So the faith to believe in Jesus is also not a gift from God. But there is a Spiritual Gift of Faith! Some people believe and teach that faith is a gift of God is because they confuse this idea with the biblical teaching about the “spiritual gift” of faith. Even though Paul does write about the gift of faith in 1 Corinthians 12:9, this is the spiritual gift of faith, and is not the same thing as the so-called “gift of faith” which some teach God gives to people before they can believe in Jesus for eternal life. Paul is quite clear that we all have different spiritual gifts (Rom 12:6). If everyone had to receive the “gift of faith” from God in order to receive eternal life (John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. “John 5:24” -Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. ; John 6:47 – “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. Jesus set the stage for His important teaching on the Bread of Life by feeding a multitude of 5000 men, besides women and children, with 5 barley loaves and 2 small fishes. ), then this would mean that all Christians have the spiritual gift of faith, which Paul says we do not. A person has the spiritual gift of faith when they firmly persuaded of God’s power and promises to accomplish His will and purpose and to display such a confidence in Him that circumstances and obstacles do not shake that conviction. As with other spiritual gifts, the gift of faith is for the encouragement of others. Those gifted in faith express their gift through faithful prayers for others and can help others to look to God in faith when they are in doubt. Faith is a gift of the Lord’s grace to undeserving people, the outworking of God’s electing grace and the atonement of Jesus for His own. Ephesians 2:8 confirms the truth that faith is ultimately a gift of God.

Ephesians Chapter 2:1-22

The message of Psalm 148 is simple: Everything and everyone in heaven and on earth should praise the Lord. The psalm falls into two sections: “Praise the Lord from the earth.” The psalm falls into two sections: in verses 1-6 the command is (148:1), “Praise the Lord from the heavens.” In verses 7-14, the command is (148:7), “Praise the Lord from the earth.” Both main sections follow the same outline. Psalm 148: Let Heaven and Earth Praise the Lord! If you are like me (and I suspect that most of you are), you’ve got a lot of room to grow in the daily practice of praising the Lord. I hope that our study in the Psalms has fanned the flame of your desire to become a person of praise. As a flash of lightning flames through space, and enwraps both heaven and earth in one vestment of glory, so doth the adoration of the Lord in this Psalm light up all the universe, and cause it to glow with a radiance of praise.

Alexander Maclaren wrote that Psalm 148 continues “…a line of thought which runs through Scripture from its first page to its last – namely, that, as man’s sin subjected the creatures to ‘vanity,’ so his redemption shall be their glorifying.” This call to all creation to praise Yahweh is not an empty wish. Praise the LORD from the heavens: The Psalmist considered that all heavenly beings and bodies should give praise to Yahweh. The God of Israel was not a local deity who only expected honor from Israel. He was and is God over all, and as such deserves such praise from the heights.

Psalm Chapter 148:1-14
Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights. Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass. Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps: Fire, and hail; snow, and vapor; stormy wind fulfilling his word: Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars: Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl: Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth: Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children: Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. He also exalted the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD.

Father God, How I thank You and I praise You! I thank You and praise You for all that You have created. Praise the Lord, for You are worthy of all honor from the heavens above and to the earth beneath. I thank You and praise You for sending Jesus to be my Redeemer, and I thank You and praise You that Jesus was willing to stretch out His arms of love for me, on the Cross of Calvary. Jesus rose from the dead to eternal life. You alone are worthy of all honor and glory, for all that You are, all that You have done, and all that You have promised to do to those who love You . I praise You and thank You that the works of Your hand are established forever and Your decrees will not ever pass away. How I praise You and I thank You that I will be part of that celestial chorus to honor You in the ages to come. I may have my scars in Heaven, but my outside voice will be my inside voice and beautiful in heaven. Amen! All because of You! I thank You, praise You and give You all the glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
