It reads in Hebrews 1:1-4; “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom “he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So, he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.”
Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son Jesus, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body is full of darkness. Be careful, then, that the light within you is not darkness. So, if your whole body is full of light, with no part of it in darkness, you will be radiant, as though a lamp were shining on you.” … Luke 11:34-36
“I find this to be so true with stinking thinking. Stinking thinking can keep you hung up in darkness so that you are miserable all the time. But when we realize that the mind can heal everything and get rid of stinking thinking the darkness will flee. When we look to Jesus, and we thank Him in everything good or bad. Then and only then can we really see that God gave this mind to us as a gift to care for and be care full in all that we say and do. Sure, we will have some bad days. But blessings are all around us as Christ followers and we need to recognize them. God gave us His powerful mind to pray for others and stay in constant communication with Him in all that we say and do. Wow a Father, friends and foe. Yes, I said foe. Sometimes we even think of God as our foe. God has a sense of humor, and He also sits back and probably says look at that girl doubting me again and He waits. Till I come to my senses. Just saying.
In the first of these we find that the Son is the “radiance, light of God’s glory. Radiance is a shining forth, the light coming from a luminous body. The word can refer either to the direct radiance or to a reflection; to the direct light from the sun, or the sun’s light reflected from the moon. Throughout the bible, light is a symbol of God, so that whenever we come into the presence of God, we’re filled with the light of God’s love, and, like a prism, the radiance of God is reflected and refracted through us to illumine and enlighten others. Like when a diamond shines strongly when light hits it. You move the diamond around and it will shine on others or other objects. When you get a moment, take a close look in the mirror. Jesus used light as a picture of good works: “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds” (Matthew 5:16). Psalm 76:4 reads and implies of God, “You are radiant with light.” The fact that God is light sets up a natural contrast with darkness. If light is a metaphor for righteousness and goodness, then darkness signifies evil and sin. Like when you flash a light into the night darkness, then you can see what you shine that light on. God sees in darkness without a flashlight.
About The New Jerusalem: It reads in Revelation 21:10-12 NIV, ~ ” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the holy city of Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, shining with the glory of God. Its radiance was like a most precious jewel, like a jasper, as clear as crystal. The city had a great and high wall with twelve gates inscribed with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel, and twelve angels at the gates.’
Her radiance was like a very precious stone, like a jasper stone, bright as crystal. And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the glory (splendor, radiance) of God has illumined it, and the Lamb is its lamp and light. I have seen stones or different sized rocks that have a glow about them. They are so precious to look at. Some with rainbow colors so radiant to the eye. Some so beautiful that will leave you speechless. ‘Radiance’ in the Bible. He is the radiance of His glory, the exact expression of His nature, and He sustains all things by His powerful word. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. Jesus urged us to think of God as our loving father and went a step further by calling him Abba, an Aramaic word roughly translated as “Daddy,” to show us how intimate our relationship with him is. God the Father is the perfect example for all earthly fathers.
You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.
