“Idle Is or Idle Not!”

Romans 16:11-14

“What does the Bible say about idle hands?”

The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city. Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning! Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness! By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.

Ecclesiastes 10:15-18

The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.  Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.  The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them. The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious. In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Proverbs 12:24-28

Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive. Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.  Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit. The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh. Better is an handful with quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit.

Ecclesiastes 4:2-6

He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.

Proverbs 18:9

He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.  As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

Ecclesiastes 11:4-6

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.  He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.  Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.  The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.  The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

Proverbs 10:2-8

Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath. The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.  He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.

Proverbs 21:24-26

“Much sleep is bad.”

Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

Proverbs 19:15

Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.  Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

Proverbs 24:32-34

Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.  How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?  Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.

Proverbs 6:6-11

“Advice”

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Ephesians 5:15-16

Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.

Proverbs 15:21

“Virtuous woman does not live in idleness.”

She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.  Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.  She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Proverbs 31:24-30

She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.  She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

Proverbs 31:14-22

“Sin”

But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;  Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith. And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

1 Timothy 5:11-13

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

2 Thessalonians 3:10-12

“We can’t afford to be idle in a dying world.”

After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.

Luke 10:1-4

Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mark 16:14-15

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Matthew 28:19-20

So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Ezekiel 33:7-9

“Reminders”

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

1 Thessalonians 5:14

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,  Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

Hebrews 6:11-14

As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.  As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him. The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

Proverbs 10:25-27

“Example”

We are fools for Christ‘s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honorable, but we are despised.  Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace; And labor, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.

1 Corinthians 4:10-13

“A Rainbow Of Joy To Brighten A Day”

1. Psalm 30:5
For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
2. Romans 5:1-5
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
3. John 16:22
So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
Satisfying Joy
Unlike happiness, joy is true satisfaction. Several times, God’s Word describes joy as “full” or “complete.” Joy satisfies the heart in a way that temporary happiness never can.

4. Psalm 4:7
You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound.
5. John 15:11
These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
6. Philippians 2:1-2
So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.
7. 1 Peter 1:8-9
Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Ever-Present Joy
Throughout the Old and New Testaments, fullness of joy is found in the presence of the Lord.

8. 1 Chronicles 16:27
Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his place.
9. Psalm 5:11
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you.
10. Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
11. Roman 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Spirit-Filled Joy
No power of positive thinking can bring lasting joy. Instead, joy is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit in us, and characterizes the people of God.

12. Esther 8:6
The Jews had light and gladness and joy and honor.
13. 1 Kings 8:66
On the eighth day he sent the people away, and they blessed the king and went to their homes joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the Lord had shown to David his servant and to Israel his people.
14. Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Sacrificial Joy
Building our own kingdoms and following our agendas may offer temporary joy, but not lasting joy. Building God’s kingdom offers a special joy that can’t be replicated.

15. Luke 10:17
The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
16. Luke 15:6-7
And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
17. Acts 15:3
So, being sent on their way by the church, they passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, describing in detail the conversion of the Gentiles, and brought great joy to all the brothers.
Deliberate Joy
We are commanded to be glad, rejoice, and shout for joy. Joy is a deliberate act of obedience in response to who Christ is and what he has done.

18. Psalm 32:11
Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!
19. Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.
20. Romans 12:12
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
21. Romans 12:15
Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.

“Micah’s Ministry”

© Photo Artist Susan Ruth Robertson 090025006100 001 - Copy (2).JPG

Like Hosea’s oracles, Micah’s words provide only vague references to the historical events which may form their background. The kings mentioned in “Micah 1:1 The word of the LORD that came to Micah the Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem. “(Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah) place Micah’s ministry in the second half of the 8th century B.C. (750-686 B.C.) Specific dates within that period are not possible to determine. A few passages in the book suggest approximate times. References to Samaria “Micah 1:1-6 1 The word of the LORD that came to Micah the Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem. Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the LORD from his holy temple. For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth. And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place. For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?  Therefore I will make Samaria as an heap of the field, and as plantings of a vineyard: and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will discover the foundations thereof. ” imply that at least part of Micah’s preaching occurred before the fall of the northern kingdom in 722 B.C. Two other passages point to a later time during Hezekiah’s reign (715-686 B.C.). The cities named in “Micah 1:10-16 Declare ye it not at Gath, weep ye not at all: in the house of Aphrah roll thyself in the dust. Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir, having thy shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan came not forth in the mourning of Bethezel; he shall receive of you his standing.  For the inhabitant of Maroth waited carefully for good: but evil came down from the LORD unto the gate of Jerusalem. O thou inhabitant of Lachish, bind the chariot to the swift beast: she is the beginning of the sin to the daughter of Zion: for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee. Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moreshethgath: the houses of Achzib shall be a lie to the kings of Israel.  Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel. Make thee bald, and poll thee for thy delicate children; enlarge thy baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee.” seem to picture a military invasion from the south such as that conducted by the Assyrian king Sennacherib in 701 B.C. “Sennacherib’s Invasion” (Now it came to pass in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, that Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the defenced cities of Judah, and took them. Isaiah 36:1) Quoting the words of “Micah 3:12  Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.”, Jeremiah places Micah in “the days of Hezekiah”  {Jeremiah 26:18  Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die.} Prophesying the fall of Jerusalem.

“Marriage”

“There are wrinkles in marriage. But, there is real power, unity and love. Embrace.”

Genesis 1:27-28: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’ ”

Malachi 2:14-15: “But you say, ‘Why does he not?’ Because the LORD was witness between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been faithless, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.”

Isaiah 54:5: “For your Maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called.”

Song of Solomon 8:6-7: “Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the LORD. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, he would be utterly despised.”

Ephesians 4:2-3: “With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Colossians 3:14: “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

Ecclesiastes 4:9: “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?”

Ephesians 5:25: “For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her.”

Genesis 2:24: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”

Ecclesiastes 4:12: “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

Mark 10:9: “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Ephesians 5:25-33: Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Painter’s Around 333 B.C.”

The colors available to the earliest painter’s were taken from the earth. Together with carbon black, they ranged from red, yellow and white. These are possibly the four colors of Zechariah’s chariots { And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass. In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;  And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses. Zechariah 6:1-3},although it is not certain what color is meant by “dappled”{And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.  Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?  And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the LORD of all the earth. Zechariah 6:3-5} When no example is given, a color name in a language such as Hebrew can be impossible to define exactly.

“Truth Or Dare”

“Being a mother of 7 awesome adult children, I could tell you stories that would have you in stitches or crying.” I wouldn’t change being a mom for anything.

“large ego of overgrown man or woman child” often these men or woman have mothers who are blowing smoke up their ass telling them how great and special they are. Because they don’t live in ‘reality’, they are very disconnected, irresponsible from who they actually are. Do what they want on another person’s expense to save having to pay their own way in this life. Sad but true.

Grown up adult” Cleans up after themselves, goes to work, takes care of their individual responsibilities, if they are married! Keep a roof of their own; over their own head. When it comes to making financial decisions paying their own rent or mortgage, electric, water, gas, debts in general; paying into a pension, having written a Will, budgeting every month and having life insurance all appeared; for taken care of adulthood. That is when they can look in the mirror and tell them self how special and grown up they really are. These grown up adults are the ones who complete life and I am very proud of them and not blowing smoke up their ass. Just saying.

“Cannabis “

Across the world, more and more people are asking: Why is marijuana banned? Why are people still sent to prison for using or selling it?

In 1929, a man called Harry Anslinger was put in charge of the Department of Prohibition in Washington, D.C. But alcohol prohibition had been a disaster. Gangsters had taken over whole neighborhoods. Alcohol, controlled by criminals, had become even more poisonous. So alcohol prohibition finally ended, and Harry Anslinger was afraid. He found himself in charge of a huge government department, with nothing for it to do. Up until then, he had said that cannabis was not a problem. It doesn’t harm people, he explained, and “there is no more absurd fallacy” than the idea it makes people violent.

Harry J. Anslinger, commissioner of the Treasury Department’s Federal Bureau of Narcotics, poses for a photo on September 24, 1930.

Harry Anslinger

But then — suddenly, when his department needed a new purpose — he announced he had changed his mind. He explained to the public what would happen if you smoked cannabis First, you will fall into “a delirious rage.” Then you will be gripped by “dreams… of an erotic character.” Then you will “lose the power of connected thought.” Finally, you will reach the inevitable end-point: “Insanity.” Marijuana turns man into a “wild beast.“ If marijuana bumped into Frankenstein’s monster on the stairs, Harry Anslinger warned, the monster would drop dead of fright.

Harry Anslinger became obsessed with one case in particular. In Florida, a boy called Victor Licata hacked his family to death with an axe. Harry Anslinger explained to America: This is what will happen when you smoke “the demon weed.” The case became notorious. The parents of the U.S. were terrified.The evidence did Harry Anslinger had? It turns out at this time he wrote to the 30 leading scientists on this subject, asking if cannabis was dangerous, and if there should be a ban. “Twenty-nine wrote back and said no. Harry Anslinger, picked out the one scientist who said yes, and presented him to the world. The press  “obsessed with Victor Licata’s axe”cheered them on. The panic that gripped America, marijuana was banned. The U.S. told other countries they had to do the same. Many countries said it was a stupid idea, and refused to do it. Mexico decided their drug policy should be run by doctors. Their medical advice was that cannabis didn’t cause these problems, that mixing cannabis with other chemicals  and alcohol was the true factor and they refused to ban it. The U.S. was furious. Harry Anslinger ordered them to fall into line. The Mexicans held out ‘until’, in the end, the U.S. cut off the supply of all legal painkillers to Mexico. People started to die in agony in their hospitals. So with regret, Mexico dismiss from employment the leading scientist of Mexico,  and launched its own drug war. (1937}

“marijuana Tax Act (1937) The marijuana Tax Act of 1937 effectively made possession or transfer of marijuana illegal throughout the United States under federal law, excluding medical and industrial uses, through imposition of an excise tax on all sales of hemp.”
People who have cancer, when they are in their last stages, they are in so much pain that morphine doesn’t even take the pain away. I know I have seen people I know who have passed away from cancer. Seeing them in that much pain tears right through the heart. I have also seen what Marijuana does to stop the pain. Wasn’t around them when they smoked it. But was there to see what it did for them. Phyllis was 89 years old. To be there with her when her frail body was in so much pain. I just go  and cry for her. What could I do but pray. When it comes to others lasts breath. I would rather see them calm and comfortable, than in pain. Just saying. What is your thought on this subject?

“Start In New Light”

© Photo Artist Susan ruth Robertson 09002500100 059.JPG

God has provided light, this circle of brightness is the real deal in a real world, where guilt meets forgiveness. Just saying. Here the world outside is fresh and new. You see more than ever before God’s beauty and energy, without the shadow of guilt upon it. For your forgiven, for here you have forgiven everyone. Here is a new perception, where everything is bright and shining with innocence, washed in the waters of forgiveness, and cleansed of every evil thought you laid upon it. Here there is no attack upon the child of God, and you are welcome. Here is your innocence, waiting to embrace you and protect you, and make you ready for the final step of eternal life. Here are the darkness and heaviness of guilt laid by, and gently replaced by purity and love. Love is not learned. Love has never left you. Embrace the truth.
