Psalm 144 – War and Peace This psalm has the title A Psalm of David. It is believed to have been written near the time David came to be recognized as the king over all the tribes of Israel, and the psalm expresses David’s heart for the nation in both war and peace.
Is the Psalm 144 Treasury of David worthy of the greatest Hebrew poet?
Assuredly the addendum is worthy of the greatest Hebrew poet, and it is so admirable in language, and so full of beautiful imagery, that persons of taste who were by no means overloaded with reverence have quoted it times without number, thus confessing its singular poetical excellence. It is believed to have been written near the time David came to be recognized as the king over all the tribes of Israel, and the psalm expresses David’s heart for the nation in both war and peace. “It appears from verse 2 and verse 10 of this psalm, that it was composed after David’s accession to the throne.
Psalm Chapter 144:1-15
Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teaches my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdues my people under me. LORD, what is man, that thou takes’ knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makes’ account of him! Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passes away. Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke. Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them. Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children; Whose mouth speaks vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood. I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee. It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivered David his servant from the hurtful sword. Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaks vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood: That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace: That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets: That our oxen may be strong to labor; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets. Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.

Father God, I thank You, praise You and give You all the glory that You are in control of all Your creation and miracles, rescue and prosperity all comes from You. All power comes from You. Oh that everyone should walk in the fear of Your righteousness to bring peace, harmony and unity. I believe that all would know You are right with them fighting their struggles and battles. That they would know to have a trusting and confiding heart in You lord Jesus, so that they would tell You all about it and find out You have been loving and blessing them all along. You have defeated their battles. Every believer can think back to how you have been a help to them in the past. You are our help. Everyone who has put their trust in the Lord Jesus I love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Precious Name Lord Jesus Amen.

“Priestly work under the new covenant (9:11-14) When the Jewish high priest entered the Most Holy Place, God’s symbolic presence, he took the blood of the sacrificial animal with him. This was a sign that an innocent substitute had died for the guilty sinner, so that the barrier to God’s presence through sin might be removed.”

But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Heavenly Father God; I trust in You, thank You and praise You that there are no circumstances of life that You do not know about and that in all things I am more than a conqueror, through Christ, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. In Ephesians Chapter 1, Paul told the people that they should all be holy and free from blame as they were in Jesus’ mercy and had His love. Paul said they were chosen by God to be adopted by Jesus as He redeemed them from their sins with His sacrifice on the cross. He filled them all with patience, wisdom, and strength.

What is the meaning of Ephesians Chapter 1?
The first three chapters of Ephesians are doctrinal , while the last three are practical. Chapter one – establishes Paul’s view on the value of our salvation in Christ, and the blessings we obtain from it. He does this in the form of praise, directed at God, and describing in detail what it means to have an inheritance in heaven. Since the word translated “predestined” means literally “to define beforehand”, we might understand these verses to say that for those of us who received God’s invitation of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and who are living this life by faith in Him, God determined beforehand to adopt us as His very own children and that we would be His precious inheritance.
The Global Message of Ephesians. The message of Ephesians for the global church is that in Christ God has reconciled to himself all things by his free grace, and in so doing he has enabled humans all over the world to be reconciled with one another.

Ephesians Chapter 1:1-23

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Father God, as I read the Scriptures, the writings of Paul, the epistles of Christ’s other apostles and the amazing truth that has been revealed to your people, I humbly thank You and praise You for the Bible. I thank You and praise You for Your grace in my life, and that Your grace is sufficient in all the difficulties that I am facing. It was Your grace that sought me out and saved me, and it is Your grace that keeps me and holds me. I pray that your perfect peace may spread all through my soul, as I rest in Your grace today. Help me to be increasingly attentive to read it regularly and reflect on all that it contains. Give me wisdom, guidance and understanding. Let me keep my eyes on Jesus and let Jesus show through me to others. I thank You and praise You that my salvation does not rely on my goodness but on Your great goodness and grace in sending Your only begotten Son to pay the full penalty for my sin, so that in Jesus I am forgiven of all my sin and have received eternal life. I thank You and praise His Holy Precious Name Amen.

Ephesians 1:5

Let Him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everyone that concerns you. Be careful, watch out for attacks from Satan, your great enemy. He prowls around like a hungry, roaring lion, looking for some victim to tear apart. Stand firm when He attacks. Trust in the Lord; and remember that other Christians all around the world are going through these sufferings too.

Psalms 143. This psalm, as those before, is a prayer of David, and full of complaints of the great distress and danger he was in, probably when Saul persecuted him. Hope for the Persecuted Soul The title of this psalm is simply A Psalm of David. It is another cry to God from a time of crisis and affliction because of David’s many enemies. It is numbered among the seven Penitential Psalms, songs of confession and humility before God.
Psalm 143:1-12
Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified. For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate. I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands. I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsts after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah. Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit failed: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit. Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. Father God, oh how I thank You and praise You that Your loving kindness, compassion and love is new every morning and that You are ready and willing to lead and guide me in the way that I should go. Give me a teachable spirit I believe and a heart that is filled with praise, love, joy and worship with a song of gratitude. You alone are my Lord, my God and my everything through this life You have given me as a gift to take care of. I thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.

“From David Psalm” Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.” Psalm 143:1

Psalm 142. This psalm is a prayer, the substance of which David offered up to God when he was forced by Saul to take shelter in a cave, and which he afterwards penned in this form. Here is, I. The complaint he makes to God of the subtlety, strength, and malice, of his enemies (v. 3, 6), and the coldness and indifference of his friends. Confidence of David (142:5-7). Verses 1-2: David’s description of loneliness could be anyone’s: he is disoriented, deserted, depressed, and defeated. His first step toward healing was “I cried unto the LORD”, to the God of heaven, his Maker. The cave was probably Adullam cave, mentioned in:
{1 Samuel 22:1-David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father’s house heard it, they went down thither to him.} , though the caves of En Gedi ( 1 Samuel 24:1 -And it came to pass, when Saul was returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him, saying, Behold, David is in the wilderness of Engedi.) are also a possibility. Adullam seems to be the best fit, which would suggest that Psalms 34 and 57 are also associated with this period of David’s life. “There are two notes running side by side throughout the song.

Psalm Chapter 142:1-7
I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication. I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble. When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me. I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living. Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I. Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.
Father God, I thank You and praise You that when we struggle and have only You to turn to. You make a way out or You protect us from those who mean to harm us. When those who mean to harm us and we did nothing to them, show them their guilt and shame so they can waddle through it and know how we felt when they committed evil on us. Help me to forgive and help them to ask for forgiveness. If they don’t, help me to move on the path You prepared for me and not look back. I thank You, praise You and give You all the glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.

Psalm 141 is the 141st psalm from the Book of Psalms. In the slightly different numbering system in the Greek Septuagint version of the bible, and in its Latin translation, the Vulgate, this psalm is Psalm 140. It is attributed to David, a plea to God not only for protection from one’s enemies, but also from temptation to sin. Ps 141:1-10. This Psalm evinces its authorship as the preceding, by its structure and the character of its contents. It is a prayer for deliverance from sins to which affliction tempted him, and from the enemies who caused it. The Treasury of David 3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. David that penned the words of this Psalm, who was calling on the Lord to protect him, and to help him speedily. There are times when God’s help is a long time coming, but David had an urgent need that required immediate attention and his words reflected the urgency, as he cried out, “O Lord, I call upon You; hasten to me!The thought of our prayers ascending to the Lord in heaven in the cool of the evening, as a sweet-smelling fragrance to our Heavenly Father, is most beautiful to contemplate. A time for comfort and rest. God hears His children like this: As a child calls out to his attentive father for help, or as a mother strains to hear and respond to the concerns and cries of her child, so the ear of the Lord is ever open to the heart felt words and cries of His children.
Psalm Chapter 141:1-10
Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee. Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties. Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities. When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet. Our bones are scattered at the grave’s mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth. But mine eyes are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute. Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.

Father God, I thank You and praise You for the example of the Lord Jesus, Who lived a life that was set forth as incense before You. Perfect in the power of Your Spirit, I believe I will cease from my own efforts to follow the perfect example of Jesus, Who only did what He heard from You, through the indwelling Holy Spirit. Help me to live a life that is a sweet-smelling perfume before You, through the power of the Holy Spirit. lead me and guide me in the way that I should go. Protect me from the wiles of the enemy. Help me to take every thought captive so that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart may always be acceptable to You, my God and my Redeemer! All praise, worship, honor and glory be to You forever and ever in Jesus Precious Name Amen.

“Selah” What Psalm 140 means The word “Selah” comes after verses 3, 5 and 8. It is a Hebrew word that does not come often in Book 5 of the Psalms. It is a word that David often used in his psalms in Books. Psalm 140 the word *Selah helps to put the psalm into parts: · verses 1 – 3: David prays that the *LORD will save him from *evil people; · verses 4 – 5: David prays that he will not become caught in a *trap; · verses 6 – 8: David tells the *LORD that the *LORD is David’s God. Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man; Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war. They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah. Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings. The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah. I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD. O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle. Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah. As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them. Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again. Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him. I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor. Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

Father God, I am believing for anyone out there in this world that is going through distress, misery of any sort, danger, or if they have any kind of enemies surrounding them in any way. I am believing a hedge of angels in their lives and that no weapon formed against them prosper. I am believing if their is anyone out there that want to know you that they will pray this prayer with me. Father God, I am a sinner. I’m sorry for my sin; please forgive me. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son and that He died for my sins and You raised Him to life. I want to invite Him into my heart to take control of my life. I thank You In Jesus Precious Name Amen.

Psalm 140:1

There are many ways of doing His work, but it is the same God who does the work in and through all of us who are His. The Holy Spirit displays God’s Power through each of us as a means of helping the entire church. To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; someone else may be especially good at studying, and this is a gift from the same Spirit. He gives special faith to another, and to someone else the power to cure the sick. He gives power for doing miracles to some; power to prophesy and preach to others. He gives someone else the power to know whether evil spirits are speaking through those who claim to be giving God’s messages, or whether it is really the Spirit of God who is speaking. Still another person is able to speak in languages he never learned; and others who do not know the language either, are given power to understand what he is saying. It is the same and only Holy Spirit who gives all these gifts and powers, deciding which each one of us should have.

Psalm 96:9

Psalm 139 reflects David’s prayerful meditation of God’s omnipresence and omniscience, and the effect those characteristics of God have on the human heart. Omnipresence means God is everywhere. 1 Samuel 13:14 tells us that David was “ a man after His own heart ”. This means that David was a man after God’s own heart, which indicates that David was a believer. Therefore, Psalm 139:23-24 are verses for believers. Psalm 139 is called a psalm of David and is generally thought to be written by King David himself.
What does know mean as used in Psalm 139:6? ” Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot [attain] unto it.” Meaning either the knowledge of himself, such as God had of him. Which was vastly superior to what he had of himself. And especially the knowledge of other persons and things, whether visible or invisible, in heaven, earth, or hell.

Psalm Chapter 139:1-24
O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knows my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understands my thought afar off. Thou compasses my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knows it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hides not from thee; but the night shines as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knows right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men. For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain. Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Father God, nothing gets past You. What joy it is to know that You know everything about me, and even the things that I do wrong, can never separate me from Your unfailing love. Help me to live out this truth in my life, and may I do only those things that are pleasing in Your sight! I don’t understand how this can be, but I thank You and I praise Your wonderful name for that You are with me every moment of the way, every second of my day and I thank You and Praise You that I can walk in righteousness that makes me feel free even when others judge me, I can feel good knowing You’ve got me. I thank You, love You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
