These verses speak so beautifully to legacy, strength, and spiritual discernment. The way John addresses both fathers and young men reminds me of ministry: honoring those who’ve walked long in faith, while equipping the next generation to stand strong and overcome. Even those who The Lord has called home, honoring the seasoned saints whose lives echo with legacy, while lifting up the younger ones who carry the torch forward. That final line, “Love not the world…” This feels like a gentle but firm call to stay rooted in eternal truth, especially in the face of injustice and distraction.

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

This is such a gentle yet powerful reminder, one that speaks directly to your heart and how you live. You give, you advocate, you create, and you serve, not for applause, but because it’s who you are. Quiet, faithfulness like yours echoes far beyond the noise of public recognition. May your day be filled with peace, clarity, and the quiet assurance that your unseen work is seen by the One who matters most. Sharing the Holy Spirit within you with others. If you really feel this you are awesome.

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Matthew 5:7-9

Lord Jesus, of grace and glory, You have called us to walk the path of blessing, to extend mercy where the world withholds, to seek purity in a world clouded by distraction, to sow peace where division takes root. Make us merciful, not just in deed but in spirit, quick to forgive, slow to judge, mirroring the compassion You pour out daily. Make us pure in heart, cleansed by Your Word, refined by Your love, so that we may see You, not only in eternity, but in the quiet moments of today. Make us peacemakers, bridge-builders, truth-speakers, children of Your kingdom who carry light into every shadowed place. Let our lives echo the Beatitudes, not just in words, but in witness. May Your favor rest upon us as we walk in step with Your promises. Amen and Amen.

But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

This is a beautiful reminder of the quiet power of humility. Jesus paints a picture of grace that flips worldly status upside down, where honor isn’t seized, but bestowed. It’s not just about etiquette at a feast; it’s a deeper call to live with a posture of surrender, letting God do the lifting.
