The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2 NIV> The Messiah would be elect, have God’s Spirit, bring forth truth, light, and judgment to the “isles” (or the scattered covenant people) and the Gentiles, give sight to the blind, and set prisoners free. “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
