(It reads in Acts 8:1 ESV: “Saul Ravages the Church” And Saul approved of his execution. And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.) He is Saul: (It reads in Acts 13:9: Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him.) “This tells us a significant thing about him. As a Hebrew, Paul bore the name of Israels earliest King; as a free citizen of the Roman world, he bore the Roman name.
