Being a kid at heart is not a question of age, but more so a question of spirit. You can be a child by enjoying small things and being happy with almost anything. Don’t mistake “being a kid at heart” for immaturity. We are adults! Mature, Responsible and having to do it all! This is serious business. We get a job, buy gas, pay bills, buy food, miscelanious stuff and have it all to do. Maybe we have a spouse that helps us. NO time to do anything. Always busy, busy, busy. This is like a horror movie life. We need to go through life with a fine tune comb. We can be a child at heart by making what we do fun in a sense. Ever watched a young child. They are always helpful. Mom does laundry the child could keep handing the dirty clothes to mom so she can put the dirty clothes in the washer. Mom says thank you baby for all your help. Mom picks up the baby and gives that baby a hug. Feel the love. The child can bring out that child like heart out of you. This is what God wants for us. So mom invited the baby to help her totally being child like.
It reades in Matthew 18:3-5,~ And Jesus said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.
What if the mom said no! Put those clothes down! She puts all the clothes in the washer. Then she walks by the baby and ignores the baby. The baby starts to follow mom and stumbles. Mom is teaching this baby to sin. Just saying. This is not being childlike. This is causing the baby to stumble. Causing to Stumble: It reads in Matthew 18:6-7, ~ “If anyone causes one of these little Ones, those who believe in me (Jesus Speaking), to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!
God loves us unconditionally and wants us to walk, live and have a child like heart in His love. Share His light and love. It reads in John 16:27-33, ~ No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.” Then Jesus’ disciples said, “Now you are speaking clearly and without figures of speech. Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.” “Do you now believe?” Jesus replied. “A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father, is with me. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
{Let’s Pray}
Father God, I thank You and praise You for the joy of having a child like heart. Guide me to be a giving person in my living. Guide me not to stumble in my walk with You. Let me set my mind and heart on You whereas You have given me these traits as a gift. Help me to use all the gifts You have given me and to appreciate them, so that when others greet me, they can see Jesus in me. I really thank You and praise You for the comforting truths in Your word. May I increasingly take note of all You teach me so that I may be kept from stumbling. I love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory for Jesus being in my life in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
