Paul talks about spiritual gifts and encourages the believers at Rome to use their gifts according to the proportion of their faith: Paul is building a metaphor to describe the first purpose of every Christian. He is showing what it looks like to sacrifice our bodies and minds in service to God as a response to His great mercy to us. All Christians together are meant to operate as a single human body.
Summary of the Book of Titus. The book of Titus was written by the Apostle Paul to Titus, his true son in the faith. He writes to give instruction and encouragement to Titus who had been left in charge on the island of Crete. Paul’s main objective is to encourage Titus and give instruction about godly living.
What Does Titus 1:16 Mean? They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed. Titus was a man that was sound in his doctrine and had been authorized by Paul to appoint church elders in every city on the island of Crete. They profess that they know God That there is a God; that there is but one, only, true, and living God, the God of Israel, as professed by the Jews; and that this God is Father, Son, and Spirit, as believed by the Christians: for the persons the apostle speaks of were Judaizing Christians.
This what Titus 1:16 reads:
They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.
{Lets read Romans 12:6-8
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
