“You Need To Know”

Here at the beginning of chapter 5, we see that a human high priest must be able to empathize with the people, and to offer a sacrifice for their sins. Only because Jesus was fully human was He able to fulfill this role. The early part of chapter 5 once again refers to: “Psalm Chapter 2: Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.” and “Psalm chapter 110:The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries. He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.” The point made here is that Christ was called to His position of High Priest by God.
So by reading the whole chapter of 1 John 5 it emphasizes the believer’s ability to “overcome” the world (1 John 5:1–5) through the power of Christ. John gives testimony regarding Jesus as the Son of God (1 John 5:6–12). This passage also reassures believers, telling them they can know they have eternal life (1 John 5:13–21).

I want to focus on 1 John 5:9-13 Because John’s Gospel, reminds us that right belief does matter for full life. Those who believe know that they have eternal life because the belief, the faith, walking in righteousness is itself eternal life, real life.
1 John Chapter 5:9-13
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
{Lets pray]
I thank You and praise You for revealing Yourself to me through other believers and mainly Your only Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Open my eye to see You more, my ears to hear Your voice, my heart to understand Your desire for my life and I believe I will live a life that is pleasing to You. I thank You and praise You that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was made flesh and came to dwell among us as the awesome and only begotten Son of God, who alone qualifies to be our Savior and Redeemer. I thank You and praise You that the Lord Jesus was born into the human race as a Man – fully You God yet fully Man, so that by His death and resurrection, He could become the singular remarkable substitute for the sin of the world. I thank You and Praise You that by grace through faith in Him I have been redeemed and qualified to be Your child. I thank You, praise You and give You all the glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
