“Thanksgiving For Return From Captivity”

Psalm 126 expresses the themes of redemption and joy and gratitude to God. According to Matthew Henry, it was likely written upon the return of the Israelites from Babylonian captivity. In Henry’s view, the psalm was written either by Ezra, who led the nation at that time, or by one of the Jewish prophets. Psalm 126 expresses the themes of redemption and joy and gratitude to God. Psalm 126 is the 126th psalm of the Book of Psalms, generally known in English by its first verse, in the King James Version, “When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream”, and in Hebrew by its opening words, “Shir HaMaalot” (שיר המעלות בשוב ה’, a Song of Ascents).

Psalm Chapter 126:1-6
Then the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
{Let’s Pray}
Father God, thanking You that You are a good God that keeps Your promises to us. Even when we messup and are faithless. I praise You and thank You for the exceedingly great and mighty things that You have done for me in the past and others. I thank You that even when we prove faithless You remain faithful. I am believing for the nation of Israel, Whom You have returned to the land You gave them . That their partial blindness will be lifted. I know of some people who are from Israel and they love You Lord. That they will once again be able to sing this joyful Psalm -to You the Lord pof all and that have done great and mighty things for us and we are glad and forever are indebted to You. I thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
