Verses 1-5: Psalm 93 and 95 to 100 (compare Psalm 47), are dedicated to celebrating God’s sovereign kingship over the world. Psalm 93 glorifies God’s eternal, universal kingdom which is providentially administered through His Son (Col. 1:17). Nothing is more powerful than the Lord; nothing is more steadfast. In Hebrew, the number 93 can also mean “the sons of (the merciful) God.” The number 93 is an intensification of the numbers 3 and 31, which makes it more significant, for it carries the meaning from offspring to sons of God, which speaks of completeness.
I. The Lord’s Universal Kingdom (93:1-4).
A. Over the Earth (93:1-2);
B. Over the Sea (93:3-4).
II. The Lord’s Authoritative Revelation (93:5).
Psalm Chapter 93:1-5:
The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved. Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.
Father God, You are the Mighty King Robbed in Your Majesty! Lord Jesus You reign over the sea and dry land. You reign over all Your creation. You are our eternity in righteousness. You are always to be praised in all and all. I thank You, Praise You and give You all the glory for life in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
